Narrative:

エアインディアエクスプレス1344便（機材ボーイング737-800）がインド・コジコート－カリカット空港の着陸で滑走路を逸脱し機体は二つに割れた。パイロット両名と旅客17名が死亡。同便はドバイ空港を当日10:15 UTCに離陸し同空港に向かっていた。

同機は西から侵入し、同空港を 13:42 UTCを上空通過しから再び同空港滑走路28へのアプローチを開始したが、これを取消して再び滑走路10へ戻るアプローチを開始した。DGCA関係者によれば同機は全長2850メートルの同空港滑走路の900メートル地点に着地したの14:10 UTC (19:40 local time)だった。機体はその後34メートルも滑走路を外れ機体は二つに割れた。

事故当時の天候は悪かった。14:00 UTC で雲が散見され、積乱雲が高度2500フィートにあり上層 8000 フィートまで達していた。風力は12ノットで260度方向から吹いていた。雨で視界は2000メートルだった。
